First take 2 dowel rods. The bigger the dowel rods, the bigger your kite. Then make notches, one to each side for both rods.
Then put string into the notches until there is enough to hold the dowel rods together. Then glue them, and put string around the glue in the middle to be extra careful.
Then cut out diamond shaped paper, a little taller than your dowel rods together. Glue it on top of the dowel rods together, poke 4 holes next to each together (2 on top and 2 under the top ones). Take 1 end of a string, loop it through 1 set of holes, tie a knot, loop another string through the bottom, 2 holes, and tie both strings together. Now you're ready to fly your kite!
Then wait for a windy day. Then go out to fly your kite and watch your kite soar high in the sky.
